Our assessment of the format

The original has a useful distinction from a simple left-to-right slot: both the direction of a line and its current multiplier matter. It can appeal to someone who enjoys following a sequence of falling symbols and seeing how one paid round develops.

The trade-off is that a busy sequence can be harder to interpret. A feature animation or a larger multiplier does not by itself tell you the cash value of the award. The game is a poor fit for anyone expecting a predictable session return or a feature to arrive on schedule.

Two-way paylines: start at an outer edge

Qualifying line combinations can be assessed from the left or the right. Chanz’s Ancient Fortunes: Zeus listing specifically describes wins in either direction. This is different from the usual assumption that every paying sequence must begin on reel one.

For a left-to-right combination, start at the left edge and follow the relevant payline through adjacent reels. For a right-to-left combination, begin at the right edge. Three matching symbols floating in the middle are not enough merely because the game pays both ways.

A payline can also change row as it crosses the reels. Use the actual line diagrams rather than treating every horizontal row as a line or every diagonal arrangement as eligible. The grid and the payline pattern are related, but they are not the same thing.

Line bet, total bet and the multiplier

Read what a paytable number represents. The detailed rules calculate a line award using its symbol value, the bet per line and the current win multiplier. Do not multiply a line-bet figure by the entire total stake a second time.

Here is an arithmetic example, not a quoted symbol payout. With a $1 total stake across ten lines, the line bet is ten cents. If an eligible combination paid ten times that line bet, its value before a trail multiplier would be $1. At a 3x stage it would become $3.

If the result surprises you, check the game history and the relevant line. Identify the direction, symbol combination, stake basis and multiplier separately. That gives operator support a clear question if the recorded result still does not match the published rule.

Rolling Reels and the multiplier trail

A winning combination can begin a Rolling Reels sequence. Winning symbols are removed and replacement symbols fall into the available spaces; another qualifying win can continue the same round. The mechanic is described in the launch announcement and detailed operator help.

The base trail starts again with a new paid spin. During the feature, each free spin starts at its own opening stage. Reaching a large multiplier once does not purchase that stage for every later spin.

A worked sequence

Suppose a hypothetical base-game sequence contains three winning stages, each worth $1 before the trail multiplier. Applying 1x, 2x and 3x would produce $1, $2 and $3, for a $6 combined return. Real combinations can have different values; this example isolates the multiplier arithmetic.

Do not apply the final 3x stage to the whole $6 again. Likewise, a later 7x result is not automatically added to your entire balance. The important figure is the eligible award to which that stage applies.

A continuing chain can make a round visually long, but it does not mean a fresh paid bet is required for every falling-symbol animation. Distinguish one round’s recorded events from pressing spin to place another wager.

Why we prioritise the detailed help

Free-spin symbols, wilds and retriggers

The original uses a Zeus wild and lightning-bolt free-spin symbols. Its wild can substitute for the Free Spins symbol, an important exception to assumptions borrowed from other games. The wild appears on the three middle reels in the published help.

Combinations can qualify on multiple lines and from both directions. The help states an initial 10–50 spins, and the launch announcement also describes a wild-assisted award reaching 50. They are not simply anywhere-on-screen scatters with a universal 20-spin ceiling.

Read the award before predicting the feature

Allow the game to finish assessing the qualifying lines and display its award. Counting visible lightning bolts alone may miss a wild substitution or a valid second direction. Conversely, an attractive collection of symbols may not form an eligible line.

Record the awarded spin count and the triggering stake if you need to query a result. A screenshot of the stopped grid is useful context, while the completed round record explains what the game actually credited.

The feature trail resets on each free spin

The free-spin trail begins at 3x and rises through 7x and 11x to 21x within a consecutive winning sequence. The next free spin begins at 3x again. For a hypothetical $0.50 eligible award at 21x, the multiplied value would be $10.50; it is not 21 times the account balance.

Retriggers are possible under the rules, but neither a retrigger nor a profitable feature is promised. Chasing another trigger after a disappointing result can turn one planned session into a much larger spend.

Using 96.02% only as a calculation, $100 in total stakes corresponds to a theoretical average loss of $3.98. A short session can finish very differently. Total stakes include winnings played again, so a deposit and the amount eventually wagered are different measures.

Volatility is not a timetable

The Canadian operator reference describes medium volatility. That broad label does not predict how many empty spins you will encounter, when free spins will appear or whether a small entertainment balance will reach a feature.

Judge the game by the potential loss of the amount you set aside, not by an expectation that “medium” means steady profit. The multiplier trail changes how qualifying awards are calculated; it does not make a winning outcome due.

Check the actual stake selector
